How Creating an Ideal Week Is helping Me Stay Productive (Without Being Hard On Myself)
I hate to admit that I have a big problem staying on one schedule and following a disciplined routine.
I’ve tried it for years… But I end up losing it and then just blaming myself for not implementing it.
So, almost 8 months back, I came across this method “Ideal Week Plan” by Ali Abdaal. He says he learned this from his coach Eric.
For me, creating an Ideal Week helped me getting things done and feel less guilty when things didn’t go as planned.
Here is what it is
Ideal Week is basically your plan for the most ideal week possible for you. As simple as that.
You basically create a new calendar and create different blocks for the week. And here’s the most important part: you’re not restricted to follow this 100%.
I can almost hear you saying, “but you’re supposed to,” “what is the point of doing this?”
Well, that’s the whole point…
When you stress yourself too much about doing something, and when it doesn’t happen that way, you beat yourself up.
And this isn’t good for your self-commitment muscles. They get weak, and eventually, you lose integrity with yourself and just keep giving up.
With Ideal Week, you know this is ideal, but you’re also accepting the truth that things will not be ideal.
